What Makes Oakville Wine So Unique?
In Oakville, the swirling fog spirits on the label honor the AVA’s most defining force: the morning marine layer that pours through the valley, cooling the vines before retreating into warm, golden afternoons. Grapevines rooted in gravelly bale loams and sandy, quick-draining soils experience moderate stress that deepens concentration while preserving freshness. The fog becomes an unseen guardian, shaping flavor and texture, giving Oakville its enveloping opulence and ethereal balance.

TASTING NOTES
This climatic choreography produces Cabernet Sauvignon with cassis, crushed blueberry, graphite, mocha, and violet, supported by velvety, fog-sculpted tannins. The berries here are slightly larger yet blessed with thicker skins than cooler sites, yielding wines of both opulent depth and refined structure. Long, slow fermentations and carefully chosen French oak amplify the richness without overwhelming the natural elegance. Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon is therefore a marriage of atmospheric precision and sensual power—fog-tempered, soil-driven, luxuriously smooth—and the artwork captures the invisible forces that shape its style.

Winemaking
The 2023 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon was crafted to showcase the distinctive power and polish of this iconic Napa Valley appellation. Sourced from well-drained, gravelly soils in the heart of Oakville, the fruit ripened slowly under consistent warmth and cooling marine influences, allowing for exceptional phenolic development and balance. The grapes were hand-harvested at optimal ripeness, then cold soaked to enhance color extraction and aromatics. Fermentation was carried out in stainless steel tanks with regular pumpovers to build structure while preserving purity of fruit. The wine underwent extended maceration for depth and complexity, followed by malolactic fermentation and aging in a combination of new and neutral French oak barrels. Oakville’s signature—rich dark fruit, refined tannins, and elegant power—comes through in every layer: notes of blackberry, cassis, and cocoa are framed by integrated oak and a supple, architectural backbone. The result is a Cabernet that’s bold, balanced, and unmistakably Oakville.
